The time I have spent at the graduate school in Osaka was an amazing experience.
I was enrolled in the Graduate School of Economics, Public Policy and Business Administration Course and my research was focused on real options. The curriculum was very flexible, giving me the opportunity to choose from a variety of subjects. It was exciting to attend classes focused on timely issues like credit valuation. The top level education level helped me build a strong theoretical background in derivatives and later to get a job at an investment bank in Tokyo, as a derivatives trader. During the summer vacation, I had the opportunity through the university program to do an internship at a Japanese research institute, which gave me a better understanding of the business world.
Osaka University has an international environment that allowed me to make friends from different countries. This life-long network of friends is one of the most valuable things that I received from the graduate school.
Osaka was a great place to live in. It is located at the heart of Kansai region, a very convenient place to discover old Japan in Kyoto and Nara, and also the new Japan like Kobe. It was the right place to learn a new language, Osaka dialect and also to discover Japan’s tasty cuisine.
The courses, teachers, mates and environment were all fascinating and really helped me grow both professionally and personally.
